  • Say Goodbye to Glues, Tapes and Metal Rings With Tim Carli’s Clip-In Extensions

Affordable. Easy. Safe Clip-in hair extensions are your quick, temporary and hassle-free solution to achieve longer, fuller and beautiful hairstyles in a matter of minutes! As the name implies, the extensions literally clip into your hair. Since clip-ins are not for permanent use and do not require bonding or other methods that can damage your hair, they are completely safe to use. Best of all, you can do it in the comfort of your own home. No trip to the salon required!

All Tim Carli hair extensions come in sets that differ in weight and the number of total wefts. This is to ensure that no matter your hair type (thin hair, short hair, medium hair or thick hair) our clip-in hair extensions can blend in naturally with your unique hair type and is virtually undetectable.

Our extensions are classic lace extensions that are available in 120g, 160g, and 220g sets.

  • Tim Carli extensions are available in 13 shades that are dyed using an advanced multi-tonal dye process. “Multi-tonal” means that there are darker and lighter strands in each set that allow the extensions to blend seamlessly and naturally with your own hair, even if your extensions are a shade lighter or darker than your natural hair.

TIP 1: Match the Color of Your Hair Extensions to the Ends of Your Hair

Always match the color of the hair extensions to the ends of your hair. This is because the ends of your hair are usually lighter than your roots and your extensions will mainly attach to the bottom half of your head.

TIP 2: Go With the Predominant Color in Your Hair

If you have a combination of colors in your hair, you should match the extensions to the predominant color of your hair.

TIP 3: Talk to One of Our Expert Stylists

When in doubt, talk to an expert Tim Carli stylist who will help you find your perfect color match. Simply pop your favorite stylist a message and begin a live chat.

TIP 4: When in Doubt, Lighten It Out

We say: When in doubt, lighten it out. If you’re struggling to decide between two seemingly similar colors, always go for the lightest of the two. Why? Because Tim Carli hair extensions are made from 100% Remy human hair, meaning they can always be dyed a shade darker.

TIP 5: Do I Need to Have an Ombre to Get Ombre Hair Extensions?

Want to transform your look with our trendy ombre extensions? Not sure if the multi-tonal color will blend with your hair? Well, it largely depends on the length of your hair:

    • If you have short-medium length hair (reaches your collarbone), you don’t need to have a preexisting ombre to wear ombre extensions.
    • If you have long hair, you’ll need to color the ends of your hair so that the extensions will naturally blend with your hair.

*Keep in mind that the color ratio of Tim Carli ombre hair extensions is 50% light and 50% dark color.

TIP 6: Use the Hair Color Detection Tool

Tim Carli’s hair color detection tool analyzes your hair color and sends you color recommendations. Simply, take a photo of your hair in natural light and receive instant results.

TIP 7: Send Our Stylists a Hair Selfie

You can also send a photo of your hair to one of our stylists to review your color, so she can give you the best recommendation possible! Follow the instructions below to take an awesome color-match photo:

    • Stand in front of a big, bright window with lots of natural light.
    • Don’t take the photo in direct sunlight.
    • Let your hair down: Take your hair out of a ponytail, bun, or braid.
    • The hair must be visible from root to tip.
    • Include shots of the front and back for best results.

  • Since Tim Carli hair extensions are made with 100% Remy human hair, they can be colored. However, we strongly suggest that you take your extensions to a professional, who has experience with extensions, to alter the color.

Keep in mind that coloring your hair extensions a shade lighter will require you to bleach the hair, which is a harmful chemical process that can damage your hair extensions and compromise the smooth texture of the hair. Therefore, always color your extensions darker instead of lighter.

Tip: For best results, dye a one-piece weft first to test the outcome.

At Tim Carli we strive to help every woman find her best color match, that is why we equip you with the best tools to make a confident decision. Here are a few ways to ensure you get it right the first time!

    1. Choose extensions that match the lightest color in your natural hair, that way you'll only need to dye the extensions darker.

    2. If you have a combination of colors in your hair, add to your gorgeous multi-tonal look with two different color wefts, like our chocolate brown color and chestnut brown color, stack them together, before clipping them in. Voila!

    3. Use our handy hair color detection tool. Simply, take a picture of your hair, upload the image and get instant color recommendations. It’s that easy!

    4. Chat to an expert stylist for a color recommendation. Our stylists are ready to answer all of your questions.

    5. Always match the color of the hair extensions to the ends of your hair. This is because the ends of your hair are usually lighter than your roots and your extensions will mainly attach to the bottom half of your head.

    6. We say: When in doubt, lighten it out. If you’re struggling to decide between two seemingly similar colors, always go for the lightest of the two colors.

  • Yes you can! Tim Carli clip-in extensions are made with 100% Remy Human Hair. That means you can create flawless curls with your hair extensions using any hair curling tool: curling wand, curling iron, hair straightener or hair rollers. Learn how you can curl your Tim Carli hair extensions here.

  • Yes! Tim Carli clip-in hair extensions are made from 100% Remy human hair, for this reason, you can straighten your hair for a gorgeous, sleek and smooth look any day of the week. You can straighten your hair extensions before or after you attach them, it all depends on which method is easiest for you! Learn how you can straighten your Tim Carli hair extensions here.

  • We say when in doubt, lighten it out. If you have a mixture of colors in your hair from highlights and lowlights and you want your extensions to match your style, always match the lightest color in your hair with the extensions color.

If you have an ombre, read this article for more information.

In addition, we recommend to only dye your extensions darker. By going a shade lighter you’ll have to bleach the extensions, which we strongly discourage. Bleaching causes severe damage to the hair strands and can compromise the smooth texture of your hair.

Tip: Choose extensions that match the lightest color in your natural hair, that way you'll only need to dye the extensions darker.

Bonus Tip: Add to your gorgeous multi-tonal look with two different color wefts, like our chocolate brown color and chestnut brown color, stack them together, before clipping them in. Voila!

  • Yes and no, it largely depends on the length of your hair. If you have short or medium length hair (it reaches your collarbone), you’re in luck: No ombre required. Simply match the base color of the extensions to your own hair color. If your hair is long, you’ll have to lighten your tips, so that the light ends of the extensions will blend with yours.

Keep in mind: The color ratio of Tim Carli's Ombre clip-in extensions are 50% dark and 50% light color.

  • Check out our video below to get beautiful voluminous, long hair in 5-10 minutes.

Note* The 160g - 10 piece set is used in this video. If you have the 120g - 9 piece set, adjust step 3 by using your second 4-clip weft.

Tip: If you have thin hair and are worried that the clips may break cover, simply attach your extensions below your hair red zone:

  • No need to worry, if you have thin hair your hair extensions won’t be detectable in your hair. The trick is to simply attach your hair extensions underneath your hair red zone. See the infographic below for more information.

Note: Tim Carli hair wefts are produced with thin base material that lay flat against your scalp for optimal coverage. Our 120g hair extension sets are specially designed for those with thin hair that’s medium - long. They add length and volume to your thin hair strands, without overwhelming your look.

  • All Tim Carli extensions are available in full head sets that are made of the same high quality grade 100% Remy Human Hair. Our 20” extensions are available in three weights (120g, 160g and 220g) and our 16” extensions are available in three weights (100g, 120g, 160g). The higher the grams, the more hair is attached to each weft. The individual strands themselves will be consistent in thickness from root to tip.

The reason we provide these weight options, is to help you find a set that is suited to your own hairstyle and thickness. An easy and effective way to determine your hair thickness is to braid your hair. Then, measure it against the three main hair types below:

Still not sure which hair type you have? Learn more here. Your hair thickness is determined by 2 factors: Density and Texture.

Hair texture refers to how thick individual strands of hair are on your head. To determine which kind you have, take an individual hair and roll it between your fingers. What do you feel?

    I feel….nothing?

    You Have Fine Hair

    I feel… something?

    You Have Regular Hair

I feel a strong, thick strand!

    You Have Thick Hair

Hair Density refers to the amount of individual hairs you have on your head. If you have low density, your scalp will be easily visible through your hair. If you have average density, your scalp will be somewhat visible. If you have high density hair your scalp will be barely visible or not visible at all.

Sets for Other Hair Types: Layered and Short Hair

With short and layered hair, the important thing to remember is that you want to create a seamless transition from where your natural hair ends and your Tim Carli extensions begin. The heavier wefts have enough hair per weft to create the smooth and authentic look you want. So, if you have layered or short hair, the rule of thumb is to go one set thicker than than the recommended thickness for your hair type (fine / regular / thick hair). In other words, we recommend the 160g set for fine hair types that are cut in a layered or short style and the 220g set for medium to thick hair types styled with short or layered hair.

  • All our hair extension colors come in 20 inch sets and 16 inch sets with different weights. Currently we do not customize our orders. Since the extensions are made with Remy Human Hair, you are free to style and cut them however you like. If you plan to layer the hair, we recommend that you bump up the weight and order a heavier set.

220g - for thick, layered or short hair. 160g - for thick, layered or short hair.

  • The ideal length for a flawless and natural blend is at least 6-7 inches (in-between chin and shoulder length).

  • If you have short hair, you want to create a seamless transition from where your natural hair ends to where your Tim Carli extensions begin. We recommend heavier sets like the 160g set for short, fine hair types and the 220g set for short, medium to thick hair types. The heavier wefts have enough hair per weft to create the smooth and authentic look you want. .

  • Advising you to cut your precious extensions seems unusually cruel. However, the outcome is worth it! If your natural hair is layered, consider feathering the hair extensions in the front, this is a great way to perfectly blend your extensions with your short hair.

For gals with blunt cuts, an easy solution is to cut layers into your own hair and extensions. Wear your hair extensions to your hair salon and let your hair stylist layer your hair and extensions simultaneously. This will create a perfect streamlined look!

Note: For best results, always take your hair extensions to a hair stylist who has experience styling hair extensions.

  • Tim Carli hair extensions are secured to the roots of your hair with sturdy clips. To remove the clips, simply unclip to open by gently lifting either side of the clip. Watch our video here.

  • With the correct care and general treatment, your Tim Carli hair extensions should last up to 12 months.

  • Tim Carli extensions are made from Remy human hair, and just like your own natural hair, your extensions may experience minimal shedding and tangling. However, with the correct care and maintenance, you can minimize shedding and tangling by gently brushing your extensions before, during (optional) and after each use.

How to brush your Tim Carli hair extensions:

Always brush your Tim Carli hair extensions gently. Start at the tips and make your way upwards, using downwards strokes.

  • When worn properly, your clip-in extensions will not lead to balding or hair loss. However, it is important to understand that clip in extensions are for temporary wear only. They are not designed to be worn permanently, as this can damage hair follicles. For that reason we advise our customers to take them out before going to sleep to avoid such damage.

NOTE:If you have very fine hair or if you are suffering from a hair loss condition, such as alopecia, we do not recommend you wear extensions unless you have consulted with your doctor. While clip ins do not cause any damage to your hair, alopecia is a special case that does not react well to the additional weight of clip ins.

If clip ins are not right for you, try our fabulous collection of wigs that are available in human and synthetic hair, for the most natural look!

Now that you know the difference between the different sets, let’s look at which set will be best suited to your hair thickness and style.

Your hair thickness is determined by 2 factors: Density and Texture.

Hair texture refers to how thick individual strands of hair are on your head. To determine which kind you have, take an individual hair and roll it between your fingers. What do you feel?

    I feel….nothing?

    I feel… something?

  • When it comes to extensions, there's no question that human hair extensions are far superior to synthetic hair extensions. With human hair extensions you can basically achieve all your #hair_goals, since you can style them using heat tools, color them, wash them just like you own hair, and they will still last up to 12 months or more.

Synthetic hair cannot be styled with heat tools or be colored at all. The lifespan of synthetic hair is also much shorter than human hair: Only 4 -6 months! So while synthetic hair may be cheaper than human hair, you actually end up paying much more in the long run.

The table below highlights how the two types of extensions differ.

    Human Hair Synthetic Hair
Material Remy Human Hair or standard hair Plastic fibers
Texture & Appearance Completely natural appearance and a smooth, soft texture. Less authentic appearance.
Styling Unlimited style variations. If your own hair can do it, your human hair extensions can do it. Usually only one set style. The fiber used has "memory" for wave, curl and volume which makes hair bounce back into place.
Coloring Can be dyed. Cannot be dyed or color treated.
Heat Styling Can be styled with hot tools. Not recommended unless it is heat friendly synthetic hair.
Washing Washing recommended after 20 wears. Washing recommended after 20 wears.
Lifespan Can last up to 12 months with proper care. Can last about 4-6 months with proper care.

  • Unfortunately, we don’t send single sample hair for color matching.

However, your Tim Carli hair extensions package has a test sample compartment that you must open first to compare the color of the sample against your hair. You can return your package within 60 days at no charge to you. Learn more about our returns and exchange policy here.

Usage and Care

  • Tim Carli clip in extensions are made with 100% Remy Human Hair. That means you can heat style your extensions just as you would with your own natural locks. However, as is the case with human hair, your extensions are not indestructible! To prevent lasting damage, follow these precautions:

    • Always use a heat protector spray or serum when styling your extensions.
    • Use a styling tool that has a temperature dial that can be adjusted to an ideal temperature of 180℃/350℉.
    • For best results, use ion styling tools. Negative ions help to lock moisture into the hair cuticles for softer, smoother and healthier extensions.
    • Never style wet or damp hair extensions.
    • Instead of blow-drying your extensions, try to let your them air dry to lock in moisture.

  • Please do! To avoid tangling with both your extensions and your own hair, as well as damage to the clips, we advise you not to wear your extensions while sleeping under any circumstances.

  • Check our video here.

Since your clip in Tim Carli extensions are not exposed to natural oils from your scalp, it is not necessary to wash them often. We recommend you only wash them if they become difficult to manage or oily from too much product build-up. This can typically take anything from 15-20 wears or 20-25 wears depending on your styling methods.

The Golden Rule: The less you wash your Tim Carli hair extensions, the longer they’ll last. To extend the time between washes, try to minimise their exposure to styling products that will cause product build-up, like mousse, hairspray, etc.

    How to Wash Your Extensions

You can wash all the wefts in one go by tying them together at the base with a hair-tie, or, for a more thorough approach, wash each weft individually. Follow the instructions below:

    What you’ll need

    • Sulfate-free and alcohol-free shampoo and conditioner and/or deep conditioning mask*
    • Soft bristle brush/wide tooth comb
    • Basin/ bucket
    • Lukewarm water
    • Hair tie (optional)
    • Shower cap/plastic bag (optional)

    * Shampoo and conditioner that are NOT sulfate and alcohol free will dry the hair out.

    1. Shampooing Method

Step 1: First, brush your extensions from top to bottom to get rid of any tangles and knots.

Step 2: Fill a basin or a bucket with lukewarm water.

Step 3: Squirt a small amount of shampoo into the water.

Step 4: Hold the top of the extensions where the clips are located and dunk the hair into the water. If your clips get wet, don’t panic. Your extensions are waterproof!

Step 5: Gently work the diluted shampoo into the hair from top to bottom with your fingers to avoid tangling the hair.

Step 6: Lay each weft flat on a dry towel. Tip: Arrange from biggest to smallest to keep things nice and tidy.

    2. Conditioning Method

Step 1: Apply a fair amount of conditioner directly onto the hair from top to bottom.

Step 2: For ultimate care and protection, use a deep conditioning treatment for 2-4 hours or overnight and place your extensions in a shower cap for extra insulation.

Step 3: Thoroughly rinse out the conditioner by gently running your fingers through the hair.

Step 4: Lock in moisture with a splash of cold water that will close the hair cuticles.

Step 5: Air dry the extensions by laying the wefts out on a flat surface or if you choose to blow dry them, remember to use heat protectant spray.

  • The Tim Carli hair box is specially designed to serve as a handy storage box to keep your extensions safe from environmental factors like humid air, friction, direct sunlight and dust. As an alternative, you can store the hair in any air-tight container like a medium sized plastic box and keep it in a dark location like your closet or dresser drawer.

Before you store your extensions, always:

    • Check that the hair is completely dry.
    • Brush the hair out.
    • Close all the clips.

    The How-to

    • Stack the wefts neatly, from biggest to smallest, on top of each other.
    • Fold up the hair from one side of the stacked wefts to the other.
    • Tie a soft scrunchie just below the base of the hair to keep the hair together and prevent a kink.
    • Twist the length of the hair in one direction and roll it up into a donut-looking shape.
    • Neatly lay the hair down in the box.
    • If you’ve gone for the 220g set and you find all the hair doesn’t fit, simply follow the same process with your single wefts and store them in the sample compartment.

  • Your Tim Carli hair extensions are made with top of the range Remy Human Hair. However, since the hair extensions are not exposed to the natural oils of your scalp, it cannot repair itself as your natural hair would. For that reason we recommend you wash and style your Remy hair with the following:

    • Products that have been specially formulated for dry and damaged hair.
    • Products that are sulfate- free and alcohol- free.
    • Heat protectant sprays, serums and leave-in conditioners or treatments.

  • Your Tim Carli extension package has two components: A sample component (1) and a main component (2). When you receive your Tim Carli extensions, it’s very important that you open the sample component first. Why? So that you can check if the color matches your natural hair color. You can return your extensions for any reason within 60 days of purchase, if you have only opened the sample component and if the main component is still sealed. However, if you open the main component then you cannot return your hair extensions.

  • Even though your Tim Carli clip-in extensions are produced with 100% Remy human hair, we do not recommend that you swim or shower with your extensions clipped in. The reason? Swimming or showering with your extensions can create unmanageable tangles with your own hair and the extensions. Also, chlorine and sea water can dry out your hair.

  • To sew the new clip onto the weft please follow these instructions:

    What you’ll need

    • Scissors.
    • Thread of a similar color to the weft.
    • A needle that’s small enough to fit through the holes of the clip.

    The How-to

    1. Remove the old broken clip by carefully cutting the material which fastens the clip to the weft.
    2. Align the new clip in the same position as the old clip and thread the needle through the holes in the clip. Repeat the action a few times until the clip is secured to the weft.
    3. After, cut the excess thread and tie a knot to secure the thread.

Wigs

Back to Basics

  • Tim Carli wigs come either in a petite or average cap size, which comfortably fits most customers because the caps can be adjusted up to 0.5’’ to ensure a tight and secure fit.

Determine the Circumference of Your Head

Step 1: Take a tape measure and measure your front hairline from ear to ear.

Step 2: Measure your circumference all the way around your head. Start at the the nape of your neck, go behind past your ears and end at your crown.

Step 3: Measure your scalp length from front to back. Start at the nape across your head to your front hairline.

Good job! Now that you have your measurements, find your perfect fit in the table below:

    What you’ll need:

    • Wig Cap: Mesh or Nylon
    • Bobby Pins (for longer hair)
    • Wide Tooth Comb
    • Gorgeous Tim Carli Wig

Tip: The smoother your natural hair, the easier it’ll be for you to secure the wig.

Step 1: If your hair reaches past your chin, you’ll need to fasten your hair to your head. You can do so with the help of bobby pins. Also remember to clip away any visible strands, like bangs.

Step 2: Next, for added protection and comfort, wear a wig cap. It locks all your hair away underneath soft nylon or mesh material.

Step 3: Adjust your wig straps to your perfect fit. Tim Carli wigs can adjust 0.5” bigger or smaller to fit in with your shape.

Step 4: Tilt your head forward. Place the front of your wig at your hairline and pull the wig back over your head until it reaches past the nape of your neck.

Step 5: Adjust your wig so that the front is positioned along your natural hairline.

Step 6: Move the ear tabs towards your temples and ensure they lay flat against your head.

Voila! Your hairline and hair should be completely concealed.

  • Whereas human hair is preferable for extensions, the same is not necessarily true for wigs. While human hair creates the most natural appearance and movement, it is also more expensive, takes more styling and requires more maintenance than synthetic hair. In the end, we find that it comes down to personal preference:

  • When considering a wig, style and hair type aren’t the only deciding factors. The base of the wig called the cap is very important. Wig caps have undergone years of technological innovation to bring you a more authentic look, natural movement, and styling versatility.

    1. Temple to Temple Lace Front

The Basics: A temple to temple lace front is placed across the frontal hairline with low hair density, creating the illusion of an authentic hairline which allows the hair to be worn away from the face. The lace front can extend 1-3 inches into the hairline.

What makes it so great? Temple to temple lace front allows your hair to be styled in multiple ways. You can even wear your wig in a ponytail. It is not pre-trimmed, to allow for maximum customization.

    2. Lace Back

Lace back wigs have a section of lace with low hair density placed at the back of the nape. This created the illusion of an authentic hairline which allows the hair to be worn up in a ponytail or bun.

    3. Adjustable Clips

Adjustable clips allow for maximum customization by allowing you to adjust the fit of your wig up to 0.5 inches.

    4. Flower Net Top

The Basics: The traditional cap or Flower Net Cap is a wefted construction where the hair is machine sewn onto strips of material. A "weft" is a narrow strip of material on the cap. The hair on the weft is sewn on in one direction for increased hair volume that masks the cap. A flower net layer covers the top of the wig and mirrors natural hair growth.

Why are they so great? Flower net tops are specially designed for increased durability and stability. The built-volume of a flower net top cannot be altered. For that reason, the cap style will not be affected by weather conditions or any other external stressors, making flower net tops the ultimate easy-wear wig feature.

    5. Velvet Ear Tabs

Velvet ear tabs have a bendable wire that can be moulded to your head shape for a snug fit that conceals the hairline. The velvet material that covers the wire provides optimal comfort.

    6. Capless/Open Cap

The Basics: Open Caps are commonly referred to as capless because they have such a lightweight look and feel. An open cap comes with openings between the hair wefts throughout the wig, specially designed for optimal ventilation and breathability. The wefts at the crown also create built-in hair volume.

Bonus: Open Cap constructions have stretch technology fiber that molds to the shape of your head. For that reason, you’ll enjoy a comfortable and precise all-day fit.

    7. Monofilament Part

The Basics: The monofilament part is located at your wig’s pre-defined hair part. With a monofilament part, the hair is hand tied into the monofilament fabric. This allows the hair to be parted at the monofilament section, creating the illusion of natural hair growth and supremely natural movement.

    8. Closed Cap

The Basics: A closed cap has a material base that prevents your natural hair from showing through the cap. The material base also enhances the wig's structure and resilience to shedding. Overall, the closed cap is a highly comfortable cap for everyday wear.

Bonus: Closed Cap constructions have stretch technology fiber that molds to the shape of your head. For that reason, you’ll enjoy a comfortable and precise fit all day.

  • Standard Human Hair is hair that has not been collected using special preservation techniques, as is the case with Remy Human Hair. As a result, the cuticles of Standard Human Hair are often lost by the time the hair is sewn or knotted into the wig. Nevertheless, to help the hair heal, the natural cuticles are replaced with silicone cuticles, leaving the hair soft, shiny and silky for 6 to 12 months.

Remy Hair is the highest quality human hair money can buy. The most important difference between Remy Hair and standard human hair is is that the cuticles of Remy Hair are kept in tact using time-consuming and labor-intensive processes during its manufacturing. Each and every hair of a Remy Hair Wig must be hand-sorted to check that all cuticles are flowing in the same direction. The result is that the cuticles remain aligned in one direction, which ensures the hair falls naturally and remains supremely soft, shiny, silky and almost completely tangle-free throughout its lifetime.

Given the care and time that goes into making Remy Hair wigs compared to standard hair wigs, it is clear to see why Remy Hair produces the best quality wigs on the market.

Usage and Care

  • It’s inevitable. Your wig will get dirty. Factors like perspiration and natural oil from your scalp can make your wig greasy. Wigs with bangs can also get dirty from makeup or face cream.

How often do you need to wash your wig?

Real human hair wigs and synthetic wigs require about the same amount of washing. Depending on how much you perspire, the wig will last about 3 weeks to a month between washes. However, if you aren’t a frequent wearer, you could stretch the time frame between washes even further.

The Golden Rule: The less you wash your Tim Carli wig, the longer it will last. To extend the time between washes, try to minimise exposure to styling products that will cause product build-up, like mousse, hairspray, etc.

    How to Wash Your Wig

    What you’ll need

    • Wide Tooth Comb
    • Towel
    • Human Hair Wigs: Sulfate and Alcohol Free Shampoo + Conditioner
    • Synthetic Hair Wigs: Specialized Synthetic Hair Shampoo + Conditioner
    • Wig Stand or Substitute

    Step 1: Untangle

If your hair is slightly tangled, be sure to give it a gentle brush with a comb before you wash it. This will prevent further tangles that may lead to shedding.

    Step 2: Rinse

Rinse your hair under running, lukewarm water from roots to tips. Do not soak the wig, as this may lead to tangling.

    Step 3: Wash Using Shampoo

Gently work a small amount of shampoo through your hair with your fingers to prevent tangling. Flip the cap and then use small circular motions to wash the wig cap. Rinse off the shampoo using lukewarm water. (Let the water run down in the same direction as the hair strands to avoid tangles.)

Step 4: Restore Luster Using Conditioner

For synthetic hair: Spray leave-in conditioner from mid-length to the ends of your hair.

For human hair: For ultimate care and protection, use a deep conditioning treatment for 2-4 hours.

    Step 5: Rinse

Rinse off the conditioner with running lukewarm water that flows in the same direction as the hair strands to avoid tangles.

    Step 6: Dry

For synthetic hair: Air dry the wig by placing it in its natural position on a wig stand.Use a comb to gently position the hair in your desired style, before it dries.

For human hair: Air dry or blow dry the hair in your desired style.

  • To keep your wig in top form, store it on a wig stand or mannequin. This will prevent tangling and maintain the natural shape of your wig. You should also store your wig in a room that is moderate in temperature and dry.

If you do not own a wig stand or mannequin, you can also store your wig in your Tim Carli container. Fold the wig in half (ear to ear) and place it into the packaging. Voila!

  • Swimming or showering with your wig is not recommended. Chemicals and salt from swimming pools and the ocean can dry out and damage your wig as well as alter the color of the hair. In addition, showering with your wig can lead to unmanageable tangles. Apart from washing your wig in the manner described in this post, try to keep your wig away from water as much as possible to increase its lifespan.

  • Yes you can! Tim Carli wigs are made with human hair, human hair blend or high temperature fiber, which gives you style freedom completely change up your look any day of the week!

    Human Hair Wigs

If you have a human hair wig, you can curl and straighten your hair to your heart's content. Just remember to always use a heat protectant spray to protect your hair against heat damage and if you heat style your hair often, use a strong conditioning treatment to keep your hair moisturised.

    High Temperature Fiber Wigs

High heat synthetic fibers offers you the same style versatility and texture of human hair with the style memory of traditional synthetic fiber. If you have a high temperature fiber wig, you may also heat style your hair, but keep in mind that your hair is heat-friendly (HF) and not heat resistant. That means your wig is not indestructible! To prevent lasting damage, follow these precautions:

    • Use a styling tool that has a temperature dial that can be adjusted to an ideal temperature of 132℃/270℉ - 138℃/280℉.
    • For best results, use ion styling tools/smart heat tools. Negative ions help to lock moisture into the hair cuticles for softer, smoother and healthier hair.
    • Always use a heat protectant spray.
    • Use a wide-tooth comb when styling your hair.
    • Never heat style wet or damp hair.

    Human Hair Blend Wigs

Our human hair blend wigs consist of 30% High Temperature Fiber and 70% Human Hair. For this reason, they can be curled or straightened to achieve an entirely different look. Just remember to always use a heat protectant spray to protect your hair against heat damage and if you heat style your hair often, use a strong conditioning treatment to keep your hair moisturised.

  • Yes and no. It depends on the type of hair that your wig is made from.

    Human Hair Wigs

With Tim Carli’s vast collection of flattering colors and unique multi-tonal blends, you won’t have a real need to dye your wig. However, if you do dye your hair, we recommend to go a shade darker rather than lighter, because the chemicals involved in the lightning process is extremely damaging to your hair.

    Human Hair Blend Wigs

Our human hair blend wigs consist of 30% High Temperature Fiber and 70% Human Hair. For this reason, we don’t recommend dying your wig as you can damage the synthetic fibers that make up 30% of the wigs’ hair.

    High Temperature Fiber Wigs

We do not recommend dying synthetic wigs as the chemicals can damage the synthetic fibers.
